Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5.30pm
Role Specific Responsibilities
* Accountability for day to day activities of the general haulage division
* Develop General Haulage customer base and commercial activity
* Oversee all route planning and assist/stand in for Network Planner when required
* Adjusting the transport plan as required to suit the business needs, with a focus on efficiency & productivity
* Ensuring full compliance with all transport regulations
* Provide support for the Transport manager when they are unavailable
* Responsible for ensuring all vehicle systems are working, are vehicle legal, roadworthy & compliant with organisational procedures & that all relevant legal, safety & operating requirements are met.
* Report any discrepancies and updates to the Head of Operations (Transport Manager)
* Maintain & Develop Customer Relationships
* Promote collaboration & positive teamwork
* Complete all necessary administration duties in a timely manner
* Work towards supporting company goals, values & objectives
Strengths, Skills and Competencies
* Extensive previous experience in a similar role within the logistics sector
* Proactive participation in a team environment
* Attention to detail & problem solving skills
* Commercial Acumen
* Driver Management
* Experience of full & part load planning
* Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office
