How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The company is made up of talented engineers, consultants, and support staff who are passionate about safety, innovation, and building something meaningful from the ground up.

This dynamic consultancy is now seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to join their team in Manchester. They offer a collaborative and flexible working environment, with a strong focus on development, training, and internal progression, while delivering high-quality fire safety solutions across a range of sectors. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to build and develop their career within a supportive and growing consultancy.

    Salary Package:

Basic salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)
9-day working fortnight (every other Friday off)
27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
    Annual bonus scheme
    Pension scheme
    Flexible working hours
    Hybrid working
    Professional subscriptions
    Company laptop and mobile phone
    Substantial training and development budget

    Key Duties:

Supporting the delivery of fire safety projects from initial concept through to completion
Assisting with the preparation of fire strategies, technical reports, calculations, and supporting drawings
Applying fire safety principles and building regulations to ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidance
Working closely with senior engineers, directors, clients, and design teams to develop practical fire safety solutions
Attending project meetings and contributing technical input where required
Managing allocated tasks to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met

    What You Will Need:

Previous experience in fire safety engineering or a closely related discipline
A good understanding of fire safety regulations and their practical application
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A relevant university degree or equivalent qualification in fire safety engineering or a related field
