Refuse Loader

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Refuse Loader / Waste Collection Operative to join our team. This role involves working as part of a waste collection crew, supporting the driver with the safe and efficient collection of general waste, recycling, and food waste from residential and commercial areas.

This is a physically active role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the collection of refuse and food waste along designated routes

* Load and empty waste bins safely into collection vehicles

* Ensure all waste is handled in line with health and safety procedures

* Work closely with the driver and team members to complete daily collection rounds efficiently

* Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safe working practices at all times

* Report any issues or hazards to the supervisor or driver

Requirements

* Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the shift

* Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

* Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

* Previous experience in waste collection, loading, or similar work is beneficial but not essential as training will be provided

* A positive attitude and strong work ethic
