How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A welcoming and well-established SEN specialist school in Stonehouse is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team. This role is ideal for someone interested in developing experience supporting pupils with communication needs and working alongside specialist staff in a supportive environment.

    About the Role - Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist

    You will work closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to support pupils with a range of communication and language needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language delays, and complex learning difficulties.

    This role provides valuable experience for individuals who are passionate about communication development and are considering progressing into Speech and Language Therapy in the future.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups within the classroom
    Assisting with communication-focused learning activities
    Supporting pupils to develop speech, language and social communication skills
    Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning
    Supporting structured routines and communication strategies
    Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff
    Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate

    Passionate about communication development and supporting children with additional needs
    Patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient
    Interested in pursuing a career in Speech and Language Therapy
    Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    Adaptable, proactive and supportive in the classroomPrevious experience supporting children with additional needs, communication difficulties, or autism would be beneficial. We also welcome applicants from psychology, care, youth work or support work backgrounds, as well as graduates interested in gaining relevant experience before further training.
