How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools (KS3 / KS4)
    Location: Long Sutton, PE12 (commutable from Spalding, Holbeach, Wisbech and surrounding areas)
    Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Flexible Supply - Day-to-Day and Long-Term Opportunities

    Aspire People are currently recruiting for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in mainstream secondary schools in and around Long Sutton (PE12). This role involves supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring a positive learning environment while the class teacher is absent.

    This opportunity is ideal for someone who has previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, or a strong Teaching Assistant looking to step up and gain classroom leadership experience. It is a fantastic way to develop classroom management skills and gain valuable experience in secondary education.

    You will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning by ensuring students stay on task and complete the work set by the teacher.

    The Role
    * Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson materials
    * Ensure students remain on task and complete the work provided
    * Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
    * Provide clear instructions and maintain a positive learning environment
    * Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

    Requirements
    * Experience working in a secondary school environment
    * Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, or a Teaching Assistant looking to progress
    * Confidence delivering pre-planned lesson content to whole classes
    * Strong behaviour management skills
    * Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
    * A flexible, reliable and professional approach
    * Access to your own transport is desirable due to school locations
