Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with TP137 CDAE authorisation to support design and engineering works on a major power infrastructure project. This is a 12-month contract role, working outside IR35, with flexible working arrangements.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of electrical design packages while operating under TP137 / CDAE authorisation, ensuring all engineering outputs comply with project standards and network requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver electrical design and engineering documentation for power and grid infrastructure projects.

Act under TP137 CDAE authorisation to review and approve design deliverables where required.

Produce and review design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
*
Support design assurance and compliance with network operator standards.
*
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
*
Participate in technical reviews, design checks, and engineering approvals.
*
Ensure engineering deliverables meet industry standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
Requirements
*
Proven experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within the power, utilities, or transmission sector.
*
TP137 CDAE authorisation is essential.
*
Experience with HV / EHV electrical infrastructure, substations, or power transmission projects.
*
Strong understanding of electrical design standards and engineering documentation.
*
Ability to work independently while coordinating with wider engineering teams.
*
Excellent technical and communication skills.
