How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Emissions Compliance Engineer

    Location: Cambridgeshire, UK

    Rate: c£34-35 per hour PAYE (33 days Paid Holiday and Pension)

    Hours: 37 hours per week - 8:30am start - 7.5 hours Monday to Thursday & 7 hours Friday.

    Duration: 12 Months with possibility of perm hire.

    We are working with an international company that manufacturers engines for marine and construction vehicle applications. With increasing scrutiny from regulators, customers investors, and our the client's board, the role of engine emissions compliance has never been more important. We are now looking for a Compliance Engineer to join the companies engineering team. This is an opportunity for a technically skilled, proactive professional to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic global environment.

    What You'll Do

    Maintain awareness and understanding of worldwide emissions regulations for engines.

    Champion proactive engagement with global regulatory compliance requirements.

    Resolve complex compliance issues across multiple products and territories.

    Support and align compliance processes between the UK, US, and India teams.

    Ensure robust execution of compliance processes across all regions.

    Create and continuously improve process documentation.

    Prepare and submit conformance reports to governmental agencies.

    What We're Looking For

    Understanding of emissions legislative requirements.

    Strong knowledge of engines; engineering degree preferred.

    Proficiency with IT tools that enhance process efficiency (e.g., Alteryx) is a plus.

    Ability to translate technical and regulatory information into clear guidance.

    Strong moral compass with a passion for high standards and doing things right.

    Confident, articulate communicator, able to influence and lead resolutions.
