How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)

    Location: Derby (DE21)

    Pay: £15.50 per hour + £50 per sleep-in

Home: Established 2‑bed Children’s Home – Ofsted ‘Good’ (March 2026)

Service: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

    About the Home

This small, welcoming 2‑bed EBD service offers a calm, nurturing environment where young people can settle, feel safe, and begin to rebuild their confidence. The home is currently empty as the most recent young person has successfully moved on, allowing space and time for the next young person to be gradually introduced with full stability.

With a warm, tight-knit, family-feel team and leadership that genuinely cares, this is a home built on relationships, consistency, and compassion. It is an ideal place for a Senior Support Worker who wants to make real impact within a supportive environment.

The Role – Senior Support Worker

This Senior Support Worker role has been created due to internal promotions — a reflection of the positive, growth-focused culture within the service.

Working the 1 day on, 2 days off rota (7:30–22:30 with a sleep-in every shift, flexible where needed), you will be a visible and valued presence in the home.

Pay range shown is based on working 11 shifts per month with and without sleep-in. Low range is with no sleeps, high range includes sleeps every shift.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Organise and lead shifts within the home

    • Support and guide staff, promoting consistency and structure

    • Work closely with the Deputy Manager

    • Build positive, trusting relationships with staff and young people

    • Promote a nurturing, safe, child-centred environment

    • Uphold exceptional safeguarding and EBD practice

This role blends leadership, care, and relational practice — perfect for someone ready to step forward and influence positive outcomes.

    Who We’re Looking For

    Minimum Requirements

-An experienced and confident Support Worker ready to progress

-Level 3 or Level 4 in Residential Childcare

-Skilled and knowledgeable in EBD and trauma-informed practice

    The Ideal Candidate

Someone with warmth, positivity, and natural good vibes — someone who brings calm, stability, and encouragement to the team.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who may have previously worked in a less supportive environment and is now seeking a home where people genuinely care, where teamwork comes naturally, and where they can rediscover their passion for making a difference.

    Training & Development

-Funded Level 5 Leadership & Management (if desired)

-Clear progression opportunities within a growing organisation

-Supportive leadership team invested in your growth and wellbeing

    What Makes the Home Special

    -A warm, family-feel culture

    -A settled and supportive team

-A leadership ethos built on kindness, trust, and genuine appreciation

-A small, calm home ideal for high‑quality relational practice

    Benefits & Incentives

    -Ofsted Rating Bonus:

    Good: Team meal & drinks

Outstanding: Team meal + £50 voucher for every staff member

    -Birthday off and paid

-Parents with children under 16: their children’s birthdays off and paid

-Flexible working expectations within the rota pattern

    Our Mission & Vision

The organisation is committed to creating safe, nurturing homes where young people can grow, stabilise, and build confidence for the future.

This same commitment extends to staff — ensuring they feel supported, valued, and part of a team where they can genuinely thrive.

Because when staff feel safe, appreciated, and empowered, young people feel it too.

    How to Apply

If you’re a caring, motivated Senior Support Worker looking for your next step — and you want to join a truly supportive, uplifting team — we’d love to hear from you.
