How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Services (EBD)

    Location: Derby (DE21)

    Salary: £40,000

    Homes: Established 4‑bed & 2‑bed Children’s Homes – Ofsted “Good” (March 2026)

Service: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

    About the Homes

These two warm, nurturing EBD homes—located just five minutes apart—offer safe, stable environments for young people to grow, heal, and feel genuinely valued. Both homes are well‑established, with strong staff teams and a positive family‑feel culture.

Each service has been thoughtfully created to feel homely, predictable, and supportive, helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

    The Role – Deputy Manager

This is a newly created role designed to strengthen leadership across both services as the company continues to grow.

    The Deputy Manager will spend:

    * 3 days per week at the 4‑bed home

    * 2 days per week at the 2‑bed home

You will work closely with the Registered Managers to bring consistency, relationship‑building, and visible support across both settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Registered Managers in day‑to‑day operations across both homes

    • Lead by example, providing guidance, structure, and emotional availability to staff

    • Build strong relationships with young people and the wider team

    • Uphold exceptional safeguarding and EBD practice

    • Promote a nurturing, family‑style culture where staff feel supported and young people feel safe

    • Support compliance, quality, documentation, and staff development

    • Work flexibly — hours shaped around staff visibility and young people’s needs

    Who We’re Looking For

    Minimum Requirements

    • A highly experienced Senior Support Worker ready to step up

    • Level 3 or Level 4 in Residential Childcare

    • Strong background in EBD residential practice

    • Confident leadership skills and a desire to grow professionally

    The Ideal Candidate

-Someone with warmth, resilience, and a positive presence — someone who fits effortlessly into a happy, supportive, family-feel team.

-This role may be perfect for an individual who has previously worked in a less supportive environment and is now ready to rediscover the impact, purpose, and joy that comes from working within a genuinely caring organisation.

    Training & Development

-Level 5 Leadership & Management fully funded (if not already held)

-Enrolment guaranteed within the first 4 weeks

-Continuous support and professional development from an experienced leadership team

    What Makes These Homes Special

    -A settled, welcoming staff team

-Truly family-feel culture built on empathy, teamwork, and consistency

-A supportive ethos where every team member is valued and encouraged to grow

-An organisation that puts relationships at the heart of everything

    Benefits & Incentives

    -Ofsted Rating Bonus:

    Good: Team meal & drinks

Outstanding: Team meal + £50 voucher for every staff member

    -Birthday off and paid

-Parents with children under 16 also receive their children's birthdays off and paid

-Supportive leadership and flexible working expectations

    Our Mission & Vision

The organisation is committed to creating homes where children feel safe, heard, included, and empowered. The focus is on nurturing relationships, building resilience, and helping each young person move toward a brighter, more confident future.

Staff are supported, respected, and encouraged to bring their best selves to work every day — because when adults thrive, young people thrive.

    How to Apply

If you’re a compassionate, committed leader ready to step into a rewarding Deputy Manager role — and you want to join a genuinely uplifting, supportive team — we’d love to hear from you.
