How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Field Service Engineer – Canon Print Equipment
    Salary: Up to £35,000 (based on experience)
    Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

    This is a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established, market-leading managed print provider that genuinely invests in its people and service function.

    You’ll be working with a Canon platinum partner, supported by a collaborative and experienced service team, with realistic workloads and a strong emphasis on quality, not volume.

    The Role

    You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and supporting Canon MFDs, ImagePRESS, and Pro-Print devices, including Fiery controllers and network integration. The role is field based, covering the East and South Midlands and surrounding areas, with a strong focus on first-time fix and customer satisfaction.

    What you’ll be doing

    Servicing and maintaining Canon MFD and print production devices
    Supporting and configuring Fiery controllers and workflows
    Installing devices and integrating them into customer networks
    Setting up scan-to-email and scan-to-folder solutions
    Diagnosing faults and resolving issues efficiently
    Building strong relationships with customers
    Keeping service records accurate and up to dateWhat we’re looking for

    A skilled field service engineer, who has gained exposure to all/any of the following: Canon MFDs, ImagePRESS, and Pro-Print equipment (or a mixture of any of these)
    Comfortable working with Fiery controllers
    Good understanding of networked print environments
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
    Great customer service skills
    Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.What’s in it for you?
