Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Generator Engineer role
Reporting to the Service Coordinator you will:
Lead installation and commissioning of diesel and gas generators from delivery through to operational handover.
Oversee major and minor servicing to ensure generator reliability, efficiency, and compliance with maintenance schedules.
Conduct and analyse generator load bank testing to verify operational performance.
Diagnose and resolve complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Complete and review service documentation and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Carry out site surveys and inspections of generator systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Time-served or apprentice-trained electrical skillset with experience working on industrial scale equipment.
7+ years' experience in generator installation, maintenance, and fault finding.
Strong understanding of diesel and gas generator systems, control panels, and switchgear would be advantageous.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
