Ceto Talent is recruiting for a Project CAD Design Technician to join a well-established business in the Wolverhampton area, designing and manufacturing highways vehicle and pedestrian safety products — the kind of equipment you see and rely on every day, on roads and public spaces across the UK. This is a full-time, permanent role. The position is fully site-based during the probation period, with an expectation of moving to a hybrid working arrangement thereafter.
Essential Requirements
* Proven hands-on experience using 2D AutoCAD in a professional drawing or design office environment — this is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.
* Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience with Inventor 3D or similar 3D CAD software.
* Experience working with ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
The Role
As Project CAD Design Technician, you will prepare accurate technical drawings for customer approval, internal manufacture, and site installation. You will produce 2D AutoCAD layout and manufacturing drawings, create cutting data for CNC profiling machines, and maintain the ERP system with items and Bills of Materials to support material requisition. You will interpret information from job files, customer specifications, and estimating data, track drawing revisions, and ensure current information is issued to customers and available for reference. Working closely with Project Managers, Technical, Production, Commercial, and SHEQ teams, you will support the delivery of large projects through drawing schedules and revision tracking, assist with QA processes and document control, and contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD standards and drawing workflows. On-site visits for measurement and detail capture may be required on occasion.
