How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a well-established precision engineering company, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing operations within their busy production facility. The company supplies high-quality machined components to a range of industries and prides itself on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a solid background in CNC manufacturing to play a key role in driving production performance and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and oversee daily production operations within the CNC machining facility.

    * Lead, motivate, and develop a team of machinists, setters, and production staff.

    * Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines and maximise machine utilisation.

    * Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality standards.

    * Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to increase productivity.

    * Work closely with engineering, quality, and planning teams to resolve production issues.

    * Ensure all work complies with required quality standards, drawings, and specifications.

    * Maintain a strong focus on health & safety across the production environment.

    * Track and report on key performance indicators including output, downtime, scrap, and delivery performance.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role within a CNC or precision engineering environment.

    * Strong understanding of CNC milling and/or turning processes.

    * Experience managing production teams within a manufacturing environment.

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

    * Strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills.

    * Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools is beneficial.

    * Knowledge of continuous improvement practices such as Lean manufacturing is advantageous.
