How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant – SEN & Intervention (Year 6)
    Full Time | Long-Term | Immediate Start
    Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
    Astro Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support SEN and intervention work with Year 6 pupils at an Primary School in Stoke-on-Trent.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential, particularly in preparation for Key Stage 2 SATs and transition to secondary school.
    About the Opportunity
    Astro Education seek to recruit a Teaching Assistants for an primarry school to cover on a long term basis - The role will start immediatley and continue until end of academic year.
    Key responsibilities include:
    *
    Providing 1:1 and small group intervention support for Year 6 pupils
    *
    Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
    *
    Delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions
    *
    Helping pupils build confidence and independence in learning
    *
    Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor progress
    *
    Supporting preparation for end of Key Stage 2 assessments
    Requirements
    Successful candidates should have:
    *
    Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school
    *
    Experience supporting intervention groups or SEN pupils
    *
    A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
    *
    A patient, flexible and supportive approach
    *
    The ability to work effectively within a team
    *
    Strong communication skills
    *
    Availability to work full-time school hours
