How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Support Worker – Newton Abbot
    Calling all everyday superheroes! If you’re the kind of person who can whip up a smile, help someone live their best life, and tackle daily tasks like a boss—this role is for you. Our client is expanding and has some brilliant new clients that need your support!
    What’s in it for you:
    * £12.75/hr on weekdays
    * £13.00/hr on weekends
    * £70.50 per sleep-in shift
    * Bonus when you complete your Care Certificate
    * £500 bonus when you refer a friend
    * 5.6 weeks of annual leave
    * Extra pay for working Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
    * Blue Light Card discounts on travel, shopping, and more
    What you’ll be up to:
    * Helping people cook, clean, and shop
    * Guiding people through decisions and money matters
    * Providing personal care and meds when needed
    * Encouraging healthy habits and community fun
    * Keeping records tidy and ticking all the right boxes with the Care Act
    Who we're looking for:
    * Chatty, kind, and dependable
    * Organised, great on your own or in a team
    * Bonus points if you’ve worked in care or have a Health & Social Care diploma
    * Flexible - while you will have a monthly rota, this role requires flexibility, including evening, weekend, and sleep-in shifts, sometimes at short notice.
    * Car driver – brilliant if you have a licence, not a deal breaker if you don’t
    Perks and quirks:
    * Casual dress code (ditch the uniform!)
    * Referral bonuses
    * Bike-to-work scheme
    * Training and support 24/7
    Join a team that actually appreciates you. Whether you are new to care or a seasoned pro, if you are ready to help people live independently and with dignity, this role could be exactly what you are after. This isn’t just another care job; it’s a chance to change lives and have fun while you're at it
