How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client, a well-established and highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer with a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience to join their growing drainage team in Maidstone.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to develop their career within a supportive and design-focused consultancy environment, working on a broad range of residential, commercial, heritage, and mixed-use development projects.

    The Role

    You will support the delivery of drainage and infrastructure design projects from concept through to construction, working closely with senior engineers and external stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities include:

    *

    Design of surface water and foul drainage systems

    *

    Preparation of drainage strategies and technical reports for planning

    *

    SuDS design in accordance with CIRIA guidelines

    *

    Hydraulic modelling using MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, or similar

    *

    Production of technical drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D advantageous)

    *

    Supporting Section 104, 106 and 278 submissions

    *

    Liaising with local authorities, water companies, architects, and clients

    *

    Undertaking site visits where required

    Requirements

    *

    BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)

    *

    Minimum 2 years’ UK consultancy experience

    *

    Experience in drainage design for development projects

    *

    Strong understanding of UK standards (Sewers for Adoption, Part H, SuDS Manual)

    *

    Proficient in AutoCAD

    *

    Working towards ICE Chartership (desirable)

    *

    Strong communication and organisational skills
