How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design and Simulation (Method Engineer)

    Design and Simulation of Casting Process Methods

    Full time, Permanent role

    7.30am – 4.00pm Monday – Thursday & 7.30am – 1.30pm Friday

    £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

    Kent

    Position Summary:

    Supporting the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality products, reduced scrap, and improved yield. This role supports NPI, coordinates simulation

    and metrology activities, drives process standardisation, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.

    Methods Engineer Qualifications & Experience

    * Degree in an engineering discipline

    * Experience with CAD Simulation software

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Knowledge of metrology, 3D scanning, and virtual assembly techniques.

    * Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies

    Methods Engineer Key Responsibilities:

    * Design and Simulation of Casting Process Methods using MAGMASOFT

    * Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and validate new production methods.

    * Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.

    * Ensure all processes and testing methods meet customer requirements.

    * Promote process standardisation and continuous improvement across the foundry.

    * Optimise process control tools to enhance quality, reduce lead time, and lower tooling/manufacturing costs.

    * Collaborate with suppliers to introduce advanced technologies and consumables.

    * Use simulation software to optimise designs and coordinate related activities.

    * Track and reduce scrap; lead yield-improvement and cost-reduction projects.

    * Coordinate metrology and 3D scanning/virtual assembly processes for method validation.

    Methods Engineer Key Competencies

    * Problem Solving: Skilled in root cause analysis, data-driven decision-making, and structured problem-solving.

    * Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of lean principles, process optimisation, and waste reduction.

    * Quality Focus: Committed to achieving “right first time” results and meeting customer specifications.

    * Collaboration & Communication: Effective cross-functional teamwork with engineering, production, quality, and suppliers.

    * Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret process data, correlate scrap trends, and drive targeted improvements.

    * Project Management: Capable of coordinating multiple activities, managing timelines, and delivering measurable results.
