Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical building services systems across a variety of projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical building services systems including HVAC, domestic water services, drainage, and low-carbon technologies
*
Produce mechanical calculations, specifications, schematics, and technical reports
*
Prepare and review drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
*
Coordinate designs with electrical, architectural, and structural teams
*
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
*
Support projects from concept design through to construction and handover
*
Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers
About You
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
*
Experience in mechanical design within the building services sector
*
Good understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry standards
*
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP experience desirable)
*
Experience carrying out thermal, ventilation, and plant sizing calculations
*
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
*
A proactive approach with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
