How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Fire and Security Engineer - East Sussex - £42,000-£45,000 Per Annum

    * East Sussex

    * £42,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

    * Full-time, Permanent

    * Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

    * Hybrid (Office and field based)

    Senior Fire and Security Engineer Overview:

    We are currently looking for a Senior Fire and Security Engineer to join a trusted provider of integrated fire, security, and electrical solutions. You will play a key role in supporting the team of engineers, ensuring adherence to British Standards and NSI Codes of Practice, and upholding the exceptional service they provide to their clients.

    If you’re an experienced technician with leadership potential, a passion for problem solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, we’d also love to hear from you.

    Senior Fire and Security Engineer Responsibilities & Duties:

    * As the Senior Technician, you will have the responsibility of overseeing field technicians and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship on all installations, maintenance, and system audits.

    * Provide technical solutions and resolve issues across a range of systems (intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, fire alarms).

    * Carrying out audits in line with NSI Codes of Practice and health & safety regulations.

    * Act as the point of contact with customers and manufacturers.

    * Provide guidance and support to field technicians

    * Support the technical helpdesk manager and assisting with technical escalations.

    * Assist with the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

    * Offering emergency callout cover (not on the official rota).

    Senior Fire and Security Engineer Skills & Competencies:

    * Extensive technical knowledge and hands on experience with fire and security systems (intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, fire alarms).

    * Strong understanding of IP and networking

    * Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently with solid experience in creating technical reports and documentation.

    * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

    * Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.

    * Ideally 8+ years’ experience in the fire and security industry (preferred but not essential)

    * Experience in a supervisory or senior technician role (advantageous).

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Ability to pass security screening
