Blair West are supporting Ryecroft Glenton to find a Director – Outsourced | FD. This is a senior leadership position within the firm’s growing Outsourced | FD service line, delivering strategic financial leadership and advisory support to ambitious SMEs. Sitting within the senior leadership structure and working closely with Partners, the successful individual will have the opportunity to build and develop their own client portfolio while helping shape the future growth of the service line, with a clear pathway to Partnership available for those who wish to pursue it.
The opportunity:
- Act as the senior financial lead for a portfolio of SME clients, providing strategic financial oversight and leadership.
- Support business owners and leadership teams with insight into financial performance, cash flow management, and operational efficiency.
- Develop strong, long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on financial strategy and decision-making.
- Lead client meetings and maintain overall ownership of engagement quality and client experience.
- Help clients establish scalable finance functions, including reporting frameworks, financial controls, and operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand client relationships while ensuring appropriate solutions and services are delivered.
- Contribute directly to the growth of the Outsourced | FD service line by developing and expanding a client portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Managers and Senior Managers, supporting the growth of a high-performing team.
- Support the strategic development of the service line, working alongside Partners to enhance service delivery and operational performance.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience within a senior client-facing finance role.
- Significant experience within professional practice, outsourced finance, or a professional services environment.
- A strong track record supporting SMEs or owner-managed businesses in a senior financial leadership or fractional FD capacity.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK financial reporting standards, particularly FRS102, and associated taxation frameworks.
- Experience managing senior client relationships and acting as a trusted financial advisor to leadership teams.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing senior finance professionals.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing or developing a client portfolio.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build networks and generate new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with cloud-based finance systems such as Xero, Fathom, or Float.
