Blair West are supporting Grainger plc to find a Finance Business Partner – Overheads. Grainger is a leading residential property business, focused on long-term rental homes across the UK.

This role sits within the operational finance function and works closely with the Head of Operational Finance, supporting the delivery of high-quality overhead reporting, financial insights and business partnering across the organisation.

The position plays a key role in ensuring overhead performance is effectively monitored and understood, while supporting budget holders in managing costs and identifying efficiencies.

    The opportunity:

    • Deliver monthly overheads reporting and analysis, providing clear insights into performance against budget and forecast.
    • Analyse overhead expenditure across cost centres, identifying and explaining variances and trends.
    • Develop and enhance reporting through the use of business intelligence tools to provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
    • Support the preparation and posting of overhead-related accruals and prepayments, alongside associated balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Review and monitor travel and business expenditure to ensure compliance with internal policies.
    • Support the development and management of the overhead recharge process across the organisation.
    • Contribute to reporting for the Operations Board and support the preparation of monthly finance information packs.
    • Assist with year-end and half-year reporting processes, including income statement disclosures and information supporting external announcements.
    • Partner with budget holders across the organisation to improve understanding of overhead performance and identify opportunities for efficiency.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

    • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a minimum of two years’ post-qualified experience.
    • Strong management accounting experience, ideally with exposure to overheads or cost analysis.
    • A solid technical accounting foundation and a good understanding of financial controls.
    • Strong data analysis capabilities, including the ability to manipulate and interpret data from finance systems.
    • Experience working with business intelligence tools to support reporting and analysis.
    • The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively communicate financial insights.
    • A proactive approach to identifying improvements to processes, systems and reporting.
    • Experience working within a fast-paced or evolving environment where priorities may shift.
    • Exposure to the residential property or real estate sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

The benefits included with this opportunity:

    • To work within a well-established and growing residential property organisation.
    • High level of exposure to senior finance stakeholders and operational leadership.
    • A role with strong business partnering focus and influence across the organisation.
    • Involvement in systems development and process improvement initiatives within finance.
