    Assistant HR Business Partner

    Lewes (East Sussex)

    12 month FTC


    Are you an experienced HR professional looking to take the next step in your career within a values-driven organisation?


    We are looking for an Assistant HR Business Partner to join a supportive and collaborative People team, helping managers to manage people matters effectively and confidently.


    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong generalist HR experience, a sound understanding of employee relations and employment law, and a passion for supporting managers and improving people practices.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Advise managers on a range of HR matters including employee relations, performance, attendance and organisational change
    • Support workforce planning, recruitment and selection activity
    • Participate in disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes
    • Work with Occupational Health providers on sickness absence and workplace adjustments
    • Support managers in applying HR policies, procedures and best practice consistently
    • Analyse and interpret HR data, staff survey results and people trends
    • Design and produce reports from HR systems to support decision-making
    • Deliver training and coaching to managers on people management practices
    • Support consultation and engagement activity with staff and representative bodies



    About You


    We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and able to build strong working relationships with managers and colleagues.


    You will ideally have:


    • Experience in a generalist HR role
    • Strong knowledge of employee relations, attendance management and employment law
    • Experience supporting managers with people issues and organisational change
    • Good understanding of HR systems and producing reports from people data
    • Strong communication and influencing skills
    • The ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly across multiple sites
    • Experience delivering training, coaching or guidance to managers
