Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Herdsperson located in Brampton. The Assistant Herdsperson will focus on the daily care and oversight of livestock, including milking, feeding, monitoring health and well-being, and assisting with breeding and calving.
The candidate must work well in a team setting and demonstrate a strong commitment to animal care and sustainable farming practices.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of livestock care, feeding practices, and animal health management
- Experience in monitoring, identifying, and addressing health concerns in livestock
- Knowledge of safe handling and animal welfare practices
- Proficiency in basic record-keeping and familiarity with farm management software is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with farm team members
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Previous experience in a farming or agricultural setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant certifications in agriculture, veterinary care, or livestock management are an advantage, training will be provided.
