Transport Operator
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well‑established Felixstowe based client for an experienced Transport Operator. This is a great opportunity for someone with container transport experience who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. With no out of hours calls.
Role Overview
You’ll coordinate daily transport operations, support drivers, and help keep activities running smoothly. The role suits someone organised, proactive, and confident in problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating drivers throughout the day
- Liaising with ports and external partners
- Booking delivery slots and arranging port entry
- Updating transport systems with driver start/finish times
- Monitoring ETAs and rerouting when required
- Matching PODs to jobs accurately
- Communicating delays and updates to customers
Requirements
- Experience as a Traffic Operator (essential)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent UK geographical knowledge
- Able to work independently and prioritise tasks
- Fast, effective problem solver
- Flexible and organised
