How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Positioned strategically between our esteemed Senior Designers and our emerging Assistant Designers, the Midweight Interior Designer combines a unique blend of fresh perspective with proven experience from multiple yacht interior projects. Collaborating seamlessly with the broader design team, they contribute evolved design concepts, leveraging their expansive skill set and insights to enrich projects and proposals. As part of our multidisciplinary project teams, they play a pivotal role in designing and delivering yacht interiors that consistently delight our esteemed clients. Our team, driven by the ethos of exceeding client expectations, seamlessly merges timely delivery with unparalleled creativity.


    In pursuit of our vision to be the most inspiring yacht design studio in the world, the Midweight Interior Designer embarks on a journey of both personal growth and collaborative contribution to ensure each project reflects our commitment to uphold the highest standards of quality. Their path is enriched with interactions with our global suppliers and insightful visits to shipyards and therefore requires the ability to travel internationally with a keenness to embrace and nurture global design perspectives.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

    • Contribute to all stages of the design process, from concept development through to detailed design and project delivery
    • Work collaboratively within the design team, contributing to a positive and supportive studio environment
    • Manage own time effectively to meet project schedules, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress
    • Prepare for and represent RWD at project meetings, including overseas visits
    • Develop strong interior design concepts which are unique to every project and client
    • Produce concept design sketches and 3D/2D views to illustrate designs
    • Produce and develop technical drawing packages in AutoCAD, including layouts, joinery details, and interior detailing
    • Supply clear and detailed information for visualisation
    • Assist with the selection of materials for the creation of mood boards and hardware to produce specification lists
    • To effectively communicate and translate the interior design information to colleagues, the client, the shipyard and suppliers
    • Integrate sustainable design principles and responsible material selection into project development
    • Contribute ideas that support positive environmental and social impact in design solutions
    • Thorough knowledge of and compliance with RWD procedures and standards
    • To stay aware of current competition and abreast of industry trends and developments
    • To seek continuing professional development


    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS

    • Experience in luxury yacht interiors or other high-end sectors such as hospitality, aviation, or residential design
    • Creative, passionate, and innovative designer
    • Graduate or Master's degree in Interior Design. Other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered
    • Excellent communication skills and eloquence to convey ideas with sketches and drawings, etc
    • Great knowledge of materials and finishes
    • Great understanding of form and spatial design
    • Strong time management skills
    • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office/Excel
    • Ability to focus on individual detail whilst maintaining a good overall view of the project
    • Good team player, willing to assist and learn
    • Desirable Hand sketching, as well as software skills, Rhino and SketchUp
