SEN Teaching Assistant – Leeds

Milk Education is partnering with welcoming, inclusive primary and secondary schools across Leeds who are looking for caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs. If you have experience working with SEN children or vulnerable young people in any setting — school, youth work, care, mentoring, residential support, or similar — we want to hear from you.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:00
Start Date: Flexible start dates available
Contract: Week-by-week initially, with opportunities for long-term and permanent roles
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (SEMH, ASD, ADHD, learning needs, and more)
- Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate, learn, and engage
- Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, encouraging learning environment
- Support pupils with emotional, social, and educational development
- Build trusting, consistent relationships with students
- Implement personalised support plans where required
- Maintain safeguarding and behaviour standards at all times
Who Can Apply?
You don’t need teaching assistant qualifications — just relevant experience and the right attitude.

- Supporting SEN children
- Working with vulnerable young people

- Residential care or support work
- Behaviour mentoring
- Sports coaching with additional needs
