How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sales Manager

    £35,000 - £38,000 + Bonus + Overtime + Training + Stable Family Business + Company Benefits

    Are you from a Sales, Trade Counter or Engineering background with some mechanical or hydraulic knowledge, looking for a stable, long-term role with a well-established family-run business?

    On offer is a great opportunity to join a specialist company where you will manage your own customer accounts, work with regular clients and develop your skills within a supportive and experienced team.

    This company are a long-standing supplier of hydraulic components to the construction and engineering industries. With over 30 years of success, they have built a strong reputation for quality, reliability and customer service, and are now looking to add to their growing team.

    In this role, you will be handling incoming enquiries, supporting walk-in customers, preparing quotes and advising on hydraulic components and solutions. You'll manage your own accounts, build relationships and work closely with suppliers and the workshop to ensure the right solutions are delivered.

    This role would suit someone with a sales or trade counter background with hydraulics knowledge, who enjoys working with customers and wants a secure role with progression into managing larger accounts.

    The Role:

    Handling incoming enquiries, quotes and customer orders (phone, email and in person)
    Managing and growing customer accounts while building long-term relationships
    Advising on hydraulic parts and liaising with suppliers to source solutions

    The Person:

    Background in Sales, Trade Counter, Internal Sales or similar
    Basic understanding of mechanical or hydraulic components
