How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Groundworker Plant Operator

    £36,000 - £42,000 + Overtime + Van + Training + Long-Term Stability

    St Albans, Hertfordshire (Commutable from: Luton, Watford, Harlow, Welwyn Garden City, Enfield)

    Are you a Groundworker, Excavator Operator or Plant Operator looking for a stable, long-term role with plenty of variety, overtime and the chance to work on interesting outdoor projects?

    On offer is a great opportunity to join a growing specialist company, working on a mix of sports pitch construction, drainage, landscaping and wider groundwork / civils projects across a range of sites.

    This well-established business specialise in sports pitch construction and maintenance, and are continuing to grow across the amenity, environmental and land-based sectors. They are known for delivering high-quality work and are now looking to add another experienced operator to their team.

    In this role, you'll be involved in a range of hands-on site work including excavation, trenching, levelling, drainage installation, concrete works and general groundwork duties. You'll also operate machinery such as 360 Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers and Telehandlers, while supporting the wider team on site.

    This role would suit a hands-on Groundworker or Plant Operator who takes pride in their work and is looking for a secure role with a good team and long-term prospects.

    The Role:

    Groundworks, excavation, trenching, levelling and drainage installation
    Operating plant including 360 Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers and Telehandlers
    Working on sports, landscaping, civils and amenity-based projects

    The Person:

    Experience in groundworks or plant operation
    Full UK Driving Licence
