Forklift Operative

We’re currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative with Counterbalance experience to join a well-established distributor within the building materials sector. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term stability and progression.

The Role:

Working as part of a small team across two warehouse buildings, you’ll be responsible for ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and accurately.

Key Duties:

* Picking orders using picking lists

* Operating a Counterbalance forklift

* Locating stock using warehouse location systems

* Packing, labelling, and palletising goods for dispatch

* Loading/unloading containers

* Stock replenishment using pump trucks

* General warehouse maintenance and organisation

* Identifying stock/location discrepancies

* Manual handling (regular lifting up to 25kg)

* Supporting wider warehouse operations as needed

Requirements:

* Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence (external, not in-house)

* Full UK driving licence & own transport (due to location)

* Previous warehouse experience (picker/packer desirable)

* Comfortable with manual handling and working at height (ladders)

* Good attention to detail and organisation skills

* Able to work in a fast-paced environment

* Reliable, team-focused, and proactive
