How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
     
    Job Purpose

    To develop the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversee its day-to-day operation in line with organisational policies, with the aim of improving outcomes and achievement for pupils with SEN.
     
    Key Responsibilities
     
    SEN Provision & Compliance

    Implement effective provisions to ensure measurable progress for pupils with SEN
    Ensure the school meets all statutory responsibilities for pupils with Statements of Special Educational Needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
    Monitor and evaluate progress against targets for all SEN pupils
    Analyse and interpret school, local, and national data to inform decision-making
    Liaise with staff, parents, external agencies, and other schools to ensure coordinated and consistent support Teaching and Learning

    Support identification and implementation of effective teaching strategies tailored to individual SEN pupils
    Work collaboratively with staff to overcome barriers to learning through:
    Accurate assessment of needs
    Monitoring teaching quality and pupil progress
    Target setting (IEPs and Provision Maps)
    Maintaining detailed and accurate records
    Collect and interpret specialist assessment data to inform teaching practice
    Coordinate SEN provision through close communication with staff, families, and external professionals
    Promote high expectations and equal learning opportunities for all pupils Leadership and Management

    Provide professional guidance to staff to ensure high-quality teaching for SEN pupils
    Lead performance management processes for SEN teachers and support staff
    Contribute to staff development, including whole-school training (INSET)
    Report regularly to senior leadership and governing bodies on SEN provision and impact Staff & Resource Management

    Advise leadership on effective deployment of staff and prioritisation of resources
    Manage and develop SEN resources, ensuring their effective use
    Work with external agencies to maximise available support and provision Qualifications & Experience

    Experience working with young people with EBD, SEMH, or SEN
    Minimum of 1 year experience as a SENCO
    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE (essential)
