How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Access Engineer

    Exciting Opportunity for an Access Engineer!

    This company is seeking a skilled and motivated Access Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time permanent role that offers a competitive starting rate of £160 per day, with opportunities for progression based on performance. The Access Engineer will be an integral part of a team dedicated to delivering reliable access solutions.

    Key Responsibilities of the Access Engineer:

    Install, configure, and commission access systems, including automated gates and intercoms.
    Perform routine maintenance on electrical security gates, barriers, and entry systems.
    Diagnose and repair faults across gate automation, intercoms, and basic network connections.
    Service and maintain audio/video intercom systems, including IP-based systems.
    Carry out upgrades to gate motors, control panels, and access control equipment.
    Ensure all systems comply with relevant electrical and safety standards.
    Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
    Provide timely responses to breakdowns and emergency call-outs.
    Maintain accurate service records and report on completed work.
    Work independently and collaboratively to deliver effective access solutions.
    Qualifications for the Access Engineer:

    A full clean UK Driving License is required.
    Previous experience in access systems installation and maintenance is preferred.
    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
