How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Year 1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil. The child is currently working at an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) academic level and accesses learning within an alternative provision setting within the school.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing consistent, tailored support to meet their individual needs on an ongoing basis.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, both in the classroom and alternative provision setting

    * Support learning activities adapted to EYFS level

    * Assist in managing and supporting behaviour in a positive and consistent manner

    * Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil

    * Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider staff team

    * Follow and implement the child’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan)

    * Meet the child at the start of each day and ensure a consistent handover with parents/carers

    * Support the child’s social, emotional, and academic development

    About the Child

    * Diagnosis of Autism

    * Has an EHCP in place

    * Engages in learning at an EYFS level

    * Benefits from routine, consistency, and a nurturing approach

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    * Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to have one processes.

    * Hold an in date safeguarding certificate or be willing to complete one

    * Experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism

    * Experience supporting children with SEMH and behavioural needs

    * A calm, patient, and resilient approach

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
