Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a CNC Shift Lead on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

The successful candidate will lead shift operations within a CNC machine shop environment, ensuring production targets, safety standards, quality requirements, and continuous improvement objectives are achieved while maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead shift operations to achieve production targets and daily performance goals.
Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
Manage Team Leaders and oversee labour allocation, performance, and training needs.
Maintain a visible leadership presence and promote a positive team culture.
Oversee daily machine shop activities, troubleshooting issues to maintain workflow.
Ensure accurate job bookings, reporting, and operational records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap.
Coordinate maintenance and TPM activities to ensure machine reliability.
Maintain housekeeping standards and support audit compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:

Relevant experience in a CNC machine shop environment.
Demonstrable ability to set and run the majority of machine tools within defined processes.
Ability to lead through organising, coaching, mentoring, developing, and motivating team members.
Open-minded, change-oriented, target-driven, methodical, supportive, and forward-thinking approach.
Positive, proactive, and approachable leadership style.
Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.
Computer literate
