How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Autism Specialist SEN Tutor – Croydon | £25–£35 per hour | Flexible 1:1 Role

    New Chapter Tuition is seeking a compassionate and experienced Autism Specialist SEN Tutor to support children and young people across Croydon. This is a highly rewarding 1:1 outreach role working with autistic learners and those with additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and re-engage with education.

    You will deliver personalised, neurodiversity-affirming tuition in community settings such as homes, libraries, and learning hubs, supporting learners with EHCPs and complex needs.

    The Role – Autism Specialist SEN Tutor

    As an Autism Specialist Tutor, you will provide 1:1 tailored support designed around each learner’s individual needs, strengths, and EHCP outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions for autistic learners

    * Plan and adapt lessons in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans

    * Create structured, calm, and sensory-aware learning environments

    * Support emotional regulation, engagement, and confidence-building

    * Track progress and provide feedback to families and professionals

    * Promote positive learning experiences and re-engagement with education

    Requirements

    * Experience supporting autistic children or young people (SEN/ASD)

    * Good knowledge of SEN strategies and the UK curriculum

    * Experience in 1:1 tuition, outreach, or alternative provision (desirable)

    * A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills

    * Confident delivering sessions in homes and community-based settings

    Location

    This role involves delivering tuition across Croydon, including homes, libraries, and local learning hubs.
