How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Health and Safety Manager - Food Manufacturing

    £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Private Medical + Company Pension

    Are you a driven H&S professional with a transformational approach to leadership and looking for an opportunity to leave your mark on an expanding global FMCG business?

    This international Food Manufacturer has over 5000 employees across several large sites including a number in the UK specialising in the supply of ingredients to high-profile restaurants and takeaway chains.

    As a result of continued growth, they are looking for an experienced H&S Manager to focus on business-wide governance and compliance, for example with the development of strategic initiatives and the coordination of audits while providing support to site-based H&S teams.

    The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent H&S qualification) and will have previous H&S Management experience in an industrial setting, preferably in FMCG.

    This is a great opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to make a significant impact on a business by contributing to Health and Safety at the highest level in a role where their decisions will shape the policies and procedures that keep hundreds of employees safe on a daily basis.

    Day-to-day of the role:

    Coordinating Health & Safety governance across sites, including audits, action tracking and performance reporting.
    Maintaining central oversight of contractor safety, H&S systems, claims, learning and digital safety platforms.
    Working with site H&S Managers to strengthen standards, ensure accountability and support strategic initiatives.
    Providing H&S cover to sites during absences and act as an escalation point for issues.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) or equivalent professional training.
    Demonstrable experience in H&S management within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
    Strong understanding of governance, compliance processes and ISO 45001‑aligned systems.
    Excellent organisational, communication and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
