How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role:

    As a Children & Young People's Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting young people within residential settings and the community. Working with at least 2:1 staffing ratio, you'll be ensuring safety, stability, and quality care always.

    You'll be:

    Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
    Supporting daily routines (from school runs and appointments to bedtimes and activities).
    Encouraging independence and personal development.
    Keeping accurate daily records (emotions, routines, activities, food diaries, and more).
    Helping manage money responsibly and keeping receipts.
    Identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
    Supporting with personal care and household tasks when needed.
    Handling behaviour that challenges with patience, resilience, and confidence.

    What we're looking for:

    A caring, professional, and non-judgemental attitude
    Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
    Good attention to detail when writing notes and reports
    Experience in social care or similar roles (advantageous but not essential)
    Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (preferred)
    A valid DBS (we can help you apply)
    A driver's licence is a bonus as locations vary
