How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Building Surveyor

    Location: Remote (projects across Suffolk & Essex) Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + benefits

    Conrad Consulting is delighted to be working with a well‑established and forward‑thinking consultancy as they look to appoint a Building Surveyor to support a growing pipeline of work across Suffolk and Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated surveyor who enjoys a varied workload, autonomy, and the flexibility of remote working while still being hands‑on with a diverse range of projects.

    The Role

    You will be involved in a broad mix of professional and project‑based work, supporting clients across residential, commercial, and public‑sector portfolios. From building surveys and defect diagnosis to refurbishment projects and technical reporting, this role offers genuine variety and the chance to develop your expertise across multiple disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities

    Undertake a wide range of building surveys, including condition surveys and measured surveys

    Carry out building pathology assessments and diagnose defects

    Support and manage project work, including refurbishment and remedial schemes

    Prepare clear, accurate technical reports and recommendations

    Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project delivery

    Assist with planning, specification writing, and contract administration

    Produce drawings and technical details (CAD skills beneficial)

    Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards

    Skills & Experience Required

    Experience in building surveying, building pathology, or related construction disciplines

    Strong technical understanding of building defects and construction methods

    Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines

    Excellent communication and client‑facing skills

    Strong report‑writing ability with attention to detail

    CAD proficiency beneficial but not essential

    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Suffolk and Essex
