How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role:

    Silcom Recruitment is excited to be supporting a successful main dealership based in the Southampton area (outskirts), seeking an experienced and driven General Sales Manager to join their team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established business representing a respected brand, offering strong earning potential, a supportive leadership structure, and an excellent working environment.

    Responsibilities & Requirements:

    Oversee the full day-to-day operation of the sales department.

    Lead, develop, and inspire a team of seven Sales Executives and one Transaction Manager

    Drive performance to achieve sales targets while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction levels.

    Uphold brand standards, compliance expectations, and a consistent sales process.

    Previous experience as a Sales Manager or General Sales Manager within the motor trade is essential.

    Full UK driving licence required.

    The Package:

    £47,500 - basic salary, on target earnings of £73,000 uncapped, plus over performance bonus to take OTE over £85,000!!

    Monday to Saturday, 8:30am - 6:00pm, Saturdays, 9:00 - 5:00, No Sundays – day off in the week (5 day working week).
