How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project

    Didcot, Oxfordshire | Permanent

    We are currently representing a leading civil engineering contractor delivering key packages on a major infrastructure project in Oxfordshire. They are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of highways and heavy civils works, including structures and associated infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering complex infrastructure schemes, involving highways, roads, structural works, and reinforced concrete packages.

    The Role

    As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of works on site, ensuring engineering activities are carried out safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements. You will be involved in setting out, quality assurance, and working closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Setting out for highways, roads, and structural works in accordance with design drawings

    Supporting the day-to-day delivery of site operations

    Ensuring works are carried out in line with quality and safety standards

    Coordinating with subcontractors and site teams

    Assisting with QA, inspections, and as-built documentation

    Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates

    Resolving technical queries and liaising with the design team

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within heavy civils or major infrastructure

    Experience on highways, roads, structures, bridges, or RC frame projects

    Strong setting out and technical understanding

    Ability to work effectively within a site team on a busy project

    Essential Qualifications

    Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

    Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC)
