Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Ellesmere Port, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behaviour needs and additional learning needs.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in:
SEMH schools
Behaviour support
PRUs / Alternative Provision
Youth work
Sports coaching
Support work
Residential care
Teaching Assistant work
The Role
Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
Building positive relationships with pupils
Supporting students who may display challenging behaviour
Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
Helping students engage with education and learningThis is a rewarding but challenging role, so resilience, patience and a calm approach are essential.

Requirements
Experience working with children or adults with SEMH, behaviour needs or SEN
Strong behaviour management skills
Calm, resilient and patient personality
DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
Team Teach training desirable (not essential)
