How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job: Task Coordinator

Location: Site based – Portland, Dorset (Osprey Quay)

Design systems that are built, tested, and deployed in some of the world’s most demanding environments.

At G3 Systems, we deliver modular and containerised deployable infrastructure used in some of the world’s most demanding environments, from defence and government operations to complex remote deployments.

We’re looking for a Task Coordinator to join our ESS - Deployable Infrastructure Group, helping turn concepts into real-world systems that are manufactured, deployed, and used in the field.

With our integration facility located on-site, you’ll have the unique opportunity to see your contribution come to life. Project Management oversight and involvement in delivering systems from concept through build, integration, and final deployment, ensuring cost control and budget adherence throughout.

    What you’ll be doing

As Task Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in keeping the contract programme running smoothly, connecting planning, people, and delivery to ensure tasks are executed efficiently and on time.

    You will:

    • Support the Project Manager in delivering the contract programme successfully
    • Plan, create, and maintain task schedules and work plans for programme ‘Call Off’ activities
    • Prioritise tasking based on urgency, resource availability, and operational location
    • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly assignments with field service engineers
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all programme ‘Call Off’ tasking
    • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on requirements, deadlines, and progress updates
    • Track task completion, ensuring delivery remains on schedule
    • Identify delays, risks, and resource gaps, escalating where necessary
    • Ensure teams have the information, tools, and support required to deliver effectively
    • Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and outstanding actions
    • Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating and mitigating potential issues
    • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes
    • Operate in full compliance with IMS policies and procedures

    Why this role is different

This isn’t a typical coordination role. You won’t just be tracking tasks, you’ll be at the centre of delivery, influencing how work gets done in a fast-moving, operational environment.

    What sets this role apart:

    • Real impact – your planning and coordination directly drives contract performance and delivery outcomes
    • Operational exposure – you’ll work closely with field engineers and stakeholders, gaining insight into live project environments
    • Ownership from day one – you’ll be trusted to manage priorities, solve problems, and keep delivery on track
    • Pace and variety – no two days are the same, with changing priorities, locations, and operational demands
    • Problem-solving focus – you’ll anticipate issues before they arise and play a key role in keeping things moving
    • Opportunity to improve – your ideas will help shape more efficient processes and better ways of working
    • Gateway role – ideal for someone looking to build a career in project management, operations, or programme delivery

    What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive coordinator who can manage competing priorities, communicate clearly, and keep operations running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

    Essential

    • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade A–C or equivalent)
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
    • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to relay instructions accurately and confidently
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively
    • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing delays or issues
    • Resourceful mindset with the ability to overcome obstacles
    • Experience coordinating teams and working with cross-functional groups
    • Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail

    Desirable

    • Mechanical or Electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, ONC)
    • Knowledge of BS7671 certification
    • Mechanical or Electrical background or experience in a technical environment

    Who you are

You’re a highly organised and dependable coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. You enjoy being at the centre of activity—keeping people aligned, tasks on track, and delivery moving forward.

    You are:

    • A clear and confident communicator who can engage with engineers, managers, and stakeholders alike
    • Naturally organised, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to stay on top of multiple priorities
    • Proactive and solutions-focused, able to anticipate issues and act before they escalate
    • Calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt quickly as priorities shift
    • A strong team player who builds effective working relationships across functions
    • Comfortable taking ownership and accountability for task coordination and delivery
    • Methodical in your approach, ensuring accuracy in planning, tracking, and reporting
    • Driven to improve processes and find smarter, more efficient ways of working
    • Interested in developing your career within project management, operations, or engineering environments

Not sure if you meet every requirement?

We know great candidates don’t always meet every requirement. If you’re interested in the role and feel it could be a good fit, we’d encourage you to apply.

We value different perspectives and are committed to building an inclusive team.

    What you’ll get in return

    • Opportunity to work on high-profile UK & international projects
    • A collaborative, technically driven team
    • Exposure to real-world engineering challenges and delivery
    • Career development within a growing, specialist organisation

    Benefits include:

    • Competitive salary from £33,000 per annum, with potential to offer more for candidates with relevant experience
    • 25 days annual leave
    • Flexible 37.5-hour working week
    • Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
    • Life cover (3.5x salary)
    • Pension scheme
    • Salary sacrifice schemes (including eBike and electric vehicles)
    • Access to wellbeing platforms

    Location & Working Pattern

This role is primarily site-based at our Portland, Dorset office at Osprey Quay, with flexibility to work from home when operational requirements allow.
