We’re looking for a proactive engineer with a strong track record in problem-solving and delivering high-quality, standards-compliant software and infrastructure. You’ll follow established processes while helping improve them, working within a multidisciplinary team.

A passion for innovative technology is key. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in industrial controls, IoT systems, and cloud-native practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Capture software and infrastructure requirements from project inception
    • Ensure platform reliability, security, safety, and compliance standards
    • Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboards (Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
    • Own SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for the DSE WebNet IoT platform
    • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (GCP, Azure, AWS) using Terraform/Ansible
    • Design and manage cloud networking (VPCs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls)
    • Run containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, including optimisation and lifecycle management
    • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions from commit to production
    • Drive SDLC automation, replacing manual processes with scalable workflows
    • Develop platform tooling/services in PHP, Golang, NodeJS (TypeScript), or C#
    • Maintain MQTT brokers and WebSocket/HTTP APIs for WebNet
    • Stay current with IoT technologies and recommend practical improvements
    • Promote best practices through design and code reviews
    • Maintain strong Git discipline and version control standards
    • Support releases through testing, production, and deployment
    • Produce clear, professional documentation across the lifecycle
    • Participate in on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews with actionable outcomes

    Requirements:

    • Proficiency in one or more of PHP, Golang, NodeJS (TypeScript) or C#
    • Proficiency in MySQL or NoSQL fundementals
    • API design and programming (JSON/REST)
    • Proficient user of Git for source control management
    • Understanding of IoT technologies and protocols such as MQTT and edge devices
    • WebSocket and HTTP fundamentals
    • Accustomed to breaking down tasks for more accurate estimates of effort
    • Used to working in a high-pace environment
    • Enthusiastic and optimistic with a genuine passion for cloud-native and IoT technology
    • Strong communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment
    • Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and/or Ansible
    • CI/CD pipeline development with GitHub Actions
    • Experience with one or more of GCP, Microsoft Azure or AWS
