Birchwood Group is a forward-looking company with retail stores, workshops and facilities based across the south coast of Sussex and Hampshire.
We are seeking a reliable and multi‑skilled Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep and smooth running of our various sites across the Group.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- General plumbing
- General electrics
- General carpentry
- Clearing manholes and maintaining land drains
- Roof and gutter clearing/maintenance
- Furniture assembly and repairs
- Gardening maintenance, including grass cutting, weeding and hedge trimming
- Painting and decorating
- Travel between our sites as required
- Ad‑hoc general maintenance tasks
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled labourer, as described above
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative without constant supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to create relationships at all level
- A flexible approach to working
Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm.
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Location: Eastbourne
