How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Role: - NDT Engineer - PCN Level 2 PAUT
Location: Wirral (site-based), with UK and international travel as required
Working Pattern: Full-time, including onshore, offshore, shipyard, and lab site attendance on an ad-hoc basis in line with operational requirements.
Salary: - Competitive starting salary plus onshore and onshore day rates

    Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PCN Level 2 PAUT-qualified NDT Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking NDT operation supporting marine, energy, and industrial sectors.
This role is ideal for a commercially aware, entrepreneurial, and proactive engineer who wants more than routine inspection work. Unlike many traditional NDT roles, this position offers variety, responsibility, client exposure, and involvement in developing new opportunities and services.
We are seeking a flexible, solutions-focused go-getter who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys client interaction, and is motivated by helping grow a business while delivering high-quality technical work.
The role is primarily based on the Wirral and candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate. Travel at short notice both onshore and offshore, in the UK and internationally is a key requirement.

    Responsibilities
    • Carry out PAUT and conventional ultrasonic inspections across marine, offshore, energy, and industrial assets.
    • Perform inspection campaigns on structural and pressurised systems, both onshore and offshore.
    • Deliver corrosion mapping and integrity assessment surveys.
    • Manage assigned projects from mobilisation through reporting and client communication.
    • Maintain strong technical quality, safety compliance, and reporting standards.
    • Engage directly with clients to build trusted relationships and secure repeat work.
    • Identify commercial opportunities and support business development initiatives.
    • Contribute to specialist investigative and technically complex assignments as the service offering grows.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records, and reports to agreed standards and deadlines.

    The Person and skills required
    • PCN Level 2 PAUT certification (mandatory).
    • PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing:
    oUT 3.1 Plate
    oUT 3.2 Pipe
    o(3.8/3.9 advantageous but not essential)
    • Entrepreneurial and commercially minded
    • Demonstrable industrial inspection experience in commercial environments.
    • Experience inspecting welded structures and pressurised systems.
    • Experience conducting corrosion mapping surveys.
    • Understanding of degradation mechanisms
    • Good working knowledge of international codes, standards, and inspection practices.
    • Strong awareness of HSE requirements and risk assessment processes.
    • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
    • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
    • Interested in varied, technically challenging work rather than repetitive assignments
    • Full right to work in the UK and ability to travel at short notice.

    What Makes This Role Different
Many NDT roles involve repetitive site deployment with limited development opportunities. This position offers:
    • Exposure to varied marine, offshore, and industrial projects.
    • Direct client engagement and project ownership.
    • Opportunities to help shape and grow new service offerings.
    • Development into specialist technical and investigative work.
    • A team environment that values initiative and commercial awareness.
