How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Major IT and Digital have partnered with a leading managed services business on an exclusive arrangement.
    As a company my client has achieved ISO status and Microsoft Gold Partner accreditations by delivering excellent customer quality and high end service delivery.
    The business also operates UK wide working across a number of SME’s and large corporations with a client list that is looking to continue to grow around 20% year on year.
    As a result of continued expansion, my client has immediate requirements for a field based engineer to work on installation, maintenance and migration projects across North London and surroundings areas.
    Ideal Candidate
    The successful candidate will come from a similar IT field based or ICT engineer environment ideally from a managed services or IT consultancy business.
    You will have strong technical understanding of dealing with infrastructure, network and cloud technologies and also comfortable working in a client facing within a school environment.
    You will also be a highly motivated and driven individual with system networks and security knowledge. You will be ‘hands-on’ building, upgrading, and migrating Windows Server environments including migrations to Google for Education, LGFL, and other education-based technologies.
    Due to nature of this role, you will be required to visit client sites on a weekly basis across Tottenham, Wood Green and North West London locations.
    **A car and licence is a must for this role!
    Skills and responsibilities:
    * At least 3 years MSP or projects based experience covering the education sector (ideally)
    * Excellent communication skills and clear reporting to end users
    * Microsoft Windows Server 2012 to 2025 management
    * Solid understanding of IP networking, VLANs, and wireless deployments
    * Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 support
    * AD configs and admin including DNS / DHCP
    * O365 and SharePoint administration
    * Virtualisation Technology Experience including Hyper-V and/or VMware
    * 2nd Factor Authentication solutions including Microsoft MFA
    * Backup technologies and troubleshooting
    Desirable skills:
    Azure
    SQL Server
    Intune / Defender for O365
    VPN’s
