Bookkeeping & VAT Manager

Job Type: Permanent (37.5 hours preferred but 25 hours minimum)
We are seeking a motivated and organised Bookkeeping & VAT Manager to join a hands-on role where you will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee VAT and bookkeeping processes, and support a small team of junior bookkeepers.
Key Responsibilities
Review VAT returns, carry out quality control, and manage departmental administration
Support the team with VAT return preparation and submissions
Oversee VAT registrations, de-registrations, and Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
Allocate and manage team workloads to ensure deadlines are consistently met
Provide VAT advice to colleagues and clients
Work closely with Client Managers to ensure VAT quarters are prepared and ready for accountsAbout You
Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping experience
Previous practice experience is essential
2+ years' experience with Xero and QuickBooks
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently
Strong attention to detail when handling financial data
Confident and professional communication skills with both clients and colleagues
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloadsCVs to (url removed)
