    Job description

    As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be given an opportunity to make a positive impact on some of the most at-risk students in the area and to provide 1:1 support for a child to progress to the next stages of their education.

    Who are we looking for? A successful candidate would:

    * Have experience in an educational setting either in mainstream schools or any other alternative provision.

    * A history of working with students with challenging behaviour.

    * A confident, caring, and assertive personality

    What to expect?

    * Working in this setting requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as the student has complex social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be managed.

    * The student has difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of Team Teach or similar positive behaviour management strategies may be needed.

    * The student will require positive re enforcement from you when they display good behaviours.

    What we need from you:

    * 2x references.

    * A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this part).

    * Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate preferred but not essential.
