How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Solar Electrician – Job Overview

    Low carbon recruitment is working with a renewable energy company based in Swindon, who have been running for 2 years and are MCS accredited. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new startup company who are expanding and growing their team. They are currently seeking a fully qualified, experienced Lead Solar Electrician to join their dynamic team.

    The company specializes in the design and installation of air source heat pumps, solar panels & battery storage systems, and heating upgrades. While the work is primarily local, some projects are nationwide. Travel expenses and overnight stays are covered for jobs that are further afield.

    As the Lead Solar Electrician, you will take ownership of the solar division, working both on the tools and providing support to other solar teams.

    Responsibilities:

    *

    Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.

    *

    Troubleshoot electrical issues, perform necessary repairs, and ensure systems are functioning optimally.

    *

    Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.

    *

    Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.

    *

    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.

    *

    Assist in digging trenches for underground wiring where needed.

    *

    Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to support related tasks and ensure smooth project execution.

    *

    Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety guidelines and industry standards.

    Requirements:

    *

    Must have 18th Edition

    *

    2391 Test & Inspection

    *

    NVQ Level 3 in Electrical

    *

    Minimum of 2-3 year’s experience in installing and maintaining solar PV systems.

    *

    Solar PV / EESS qualifications and technical knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, panels, and mounting systems.

    *

    Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting solar PV systems.

    *

    Strong background in inspection and testing of electrical systems.

    *

    Full UK driving license.

    *

    SSSTS training (preferred but not essential).

    *

    IPAF/PASMA certifications are an advantage.

    *

    ECS Gold card.

    *

    High standard of client communication skills and a customer-centric approach.

    *

    Strong time management, organizational, and leadership skills.

    Salary & Benefits:

    Salary: £50,000 - £55,000, based on experience.
