    Job description

We’re currently looking for a Lead Scientist - Product, for our client, to lead the development of a breakthrough porous silicon anode as it transitions from R&D to commercialisation. This hands‑on role is ideal for an experienced battery technologist who wants to build real product, drive performance improvements, and influence the commercial direction of next‑generation energy storage.
The Lead Scientist - Product will:
    * Own the silicon anode product roadmap and translate commercial battery requirements into technical development targets.
    * Lead experimental programmes across material design, electrode formulation, and cell performance.
    * Convert electrochemical data into meaningful product improvements and performance gains.
    * Support scale‑up and manufacturing decisions alongside process and leadership teams.
    * Provide technical leadership and mentoring while remaining hands‑on in the lab.
    * Contribute to customer discussions, product validation, and IP generation.
The Lead Scientist - Product will have:
    * 5+ years’ experience in battery materials development or applied R&D.
    * Strong hands‑on expertise in anodes, electrode processing, and cell assembly/testing.
    * Deep understanding of commercial battery KPIs (cycle life, CE, energy density, degradation).
    * Proven ability to independently drive development programmes and make technical decisions.
    * Strong communication skills with comfort engaging leadership, engineers, and customers.
    * A product‑driven mindset with the ability to balance performance, scalability, and commercial needs.
Desirables – It would be great if you also have:
    * Experience taking technologies from lab to pilot or prototype scale.
    * Exposure to modelling, advanced diagnostics, or structured experimental design.
    * A track record of patents or contributions to industrial IP.
If you’re excited to build meaningful, scalable products and work at the forefront of battery innovation, we’d love to hear from you. Apply online using an updated version of your CV and we will be in touch
