    Job description

    IT Support Technician

    The Company

    This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Weston-super-Mare.

    The company has recently invested heavily in its facilities, systems and infrastructure and is entering a new phase of growth following the award of major new work.

    IT plays a key role in supporting both office and operational environments, and this position offers the chance to be part of that journey.

    The Role

    We’re looking for an IT Support Technician to join a small, hands-on IT function, working closely with the IT Manager.

    This is a varied role covering both day-to-day support and project work, with exposure across infrastructure, systems, and business applications. You’ll be supporting both office users and shopfloor operations, so no two days will look the same.

    It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond a standard helpdesk role and get involved in wider IT systems and improvements.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    * Providing 1st and 2nd line support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners and mobile devices

    * Supporting Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

    * Managing users and access within Active Directory

    * Troubleshooting IT issues across office and production environments

    * Supporting Windows servers and virtual environments (VMware exposure)

    * Assisting with ERP and operational business systems

    * Supporting reporting tools and data queries (SQL / Power BI exposure)

    * Getting involved in automation and process improvements

    * Setting up hardware, new starters and internal moves

    * Maintaining and improving documentation and IT processes

    Security & Maintenance:

    * Monitoring patching (Automox), antivirus (Check Point Harmony) and backups (Druva)

    * Investigating issues and ensuring systems remain secure and up to date

    Operational IT:

    * Supporting networking, scanners and printers within a manufacturing environment

    What We’re Looking For

    * Experience in an IT support role or strong technical background

    * Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows environments

    * Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, DHCP)

    * A proactive, hands-on approach

    * Someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership

    * Strong attention to detail, particularly around documentation

    Desirable (Not Essential)

    * ERP system experience

    * Power BI or Power Automate exposure

    * SQL knowledge

    * VMware or server exposure

    * Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
